Herbal Kizhi Massage is a combination of two effective Ayurvedic massage techniques. The first is a rhythmic full-body massage Abhyanga, which relaxes the body and skin, and helps the active ingredients from heated oil get into deeper levels of the skin. The second technique is massage using herbal bags that are filled with a mixture of Ayurvedic grasses, roots and leaves. The herbal bags are attached to a tense and painful back and cross area and  treat the most stressed and loaded parts of the back.

 

Abhyanga - whole body massage - 30 min.: 

In Sanskrit, the word “abhyangam “ means “to massage”. This Ayurvedic oil massage is very effective and is performed on the whole body, head, feet and palms. Warm oil is used to massage “marma points”, node points or the junctures of energy flow in the body. It is not a pressure, but gentle and soothing massage. Abhyanga increases the production of blood corpuscles and antibodies which protect the body from viruses and illnesses. It vitalizes the body, retards the process of ageing and brings vitality.

 

Back massage with herbal bags - 30 min.: 

After a relaxing massage, the Indian therapist focuses on the back, specifically on the most tense and problematic side of the back. The prepared herbal bags are filled with a mixture of Ayurvedic herbs, grasses, roots and leaves - the mixture consists, for example, of Dumbur, Turmeric, Lemongrass, Citronella, Acai Leaves, Tamarin Leaves etc. The bags are soaked in a warm, heated oil and pressed on the most painful parts of the back. Massage is very pleasant, relaxing, but very effective.

 

Effects of Massage HERBAL KIZHI:

Modern lifestyle is not in line with the natural lifestyle and usually has a negative impact on our health. One of the common problems is bad sitting that causes lower back pain, stiff neck, shoulder pain, muscle contraction and decreased joint mobility Herbal KIZHI is an Ayurvedic massage that is effective in treating these problems:

• Herbal bags massage (30 minutes)
• Damayanti – herb steam bath (7-10 min)
• Relax in tepidarium – relaxation stay in relax room with oxygentherapy

 

Served with massage:

• In RASAJÁNA SPA, as welcome drink, Ayurvedic detoxification drink is offered. It contains ginger, mint, honey and lemon. The drink is not only detoxifying, but also diuretic and it is an excellent prevention of getting a cold or influenza. It is served warm. In case, guests are allergic to any of Ayurvedic detoxification drink ingredients, it is recommended to inform Ayurvedic spa staff about the problem.

 

Partial contradictions: /massage is not practised on a certain part of body/

• varicose veins
• after phlebitis
• after thrombosis /massage is not practised on affected parts of body/
• pregnancy, menstruation /massage is not practised on the back and abdomen/

 

Total contraindications: /massage is not recommended/

• inflammatory and purulent skin diseases, wounds, rash, big protruding moles, eczema, swelling, bruises
• infectious diseases, fever, cold, influenza, tonsillitis
• serious inflammatory diseases
• fungal infections
• acute pain lasting less than 3 days
• oncological diseases
• enlarged lymph nodes
• hypertension / low blood pressure
• the state of drunkenness
• the state of extreme exhaustion

 

It is recommended:

• not to take massage at least 2 hours after main course
• to inform SPA staff about any of client’s skin allergies or allergy to any substance

 

We kindly ask our guests to follow these instructions:

• no swimsuit is required in sauna
• swimsuit is required in pools and massage bathtub
• it is prohibited to go in the pool and massage bathtub after massage
